What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

What a wonderful place to visit. The Gypsy Vanner horse is just beautiful. Our host Dennis and Erin are warm and welcoming. I enjoyed listening to Dennis speak of his past history and how he discovered the breed and getting the horses to the Ocala farm.

This was an amazing experience! Far, far exceeded my expectations. I thought I was just going to see some pretty horses. Which I certainly did. But the storytelling of the owner and the fascinating history behind these horses was worth the trip alone. And then the magnificent horses. And you can pet most of them. And there was an adorable 2 week old colt. The grounds of the farm are also a work of art in themselves with large, magnificent oaks dripping with moss. I cannot say enough of how special this was!

I love horses but I don't think you even have to love them to love this tour. The storytelling and history Dennis shared and the vision he has for his farm are amazing. It's a great social distanced activity. I know a bit about horses but I learned so much more. There is a reason they are #1. Just do it. You won't regret it.
