What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

Visiting this farm was a bucket list event for me. As excited as I was to visit, I was absolutely floored by the experience. A beautiful farm with beautiful horses, but even more amazing was the love story owner Dennis Thompson takes you on with his story unfolding. Go. Relax. Listen. You won’t regret it. Thank you Dennis for bringing the Gypsie to the US and for opening up your farm and for sharing your heart of Gypsie Gold.

The horses and mules were beautiful and affectionate. The birds had wonderful sassy attitudes. The owners were gracious. We loved it!

Was going to be in area and when I found it was the top rated TA site , we had to see it. Surprisingly is off the beaten path but that is part of it's uniqueness. As mentioned by others, Dennis gives the history of the Gypsy Vanner horse, but as interesting is how he speaks firsthand about the ever maligned Gypsies. It shows how ignorant people could be when they are ill informed. Erin is a gracious hostess. I wish them all the best to succeed while Covid has destroyed so many small venues. Their numbers of visitors are way down (covid) and they have a unique attraction.
