What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

Easy to follow directions to beautiful old oak trees surrounding the farm. Started with a look around the farm then a beautiful presentation from the original importer himself. So much 1st hand knowledge about the breed and true history. Every horse on the tour was so kind and easy to pet and love on. No matter the age this tour captures your heart ❤️

This is a great place to learn about raising horses and in particular, this unique breed. Dennis and his wife Erin make you feel right at home and the horses are really friendly. You spend most of your time hearing Dennis talk about how the breed was introduced to the U.S. but there is plenty of time to visit with the animals.

The gentleman owner was a consummate story teller, the way he spoke about the history and his personal quest of the Gypsy Vanner was fantastic. He kept you interested and hanging on every word. Now I probably only remember 20%... so I guess I'll have to keep bringing new friends back to enjoy the tour. The only snafu was when we checked in, I tried showing the other owner our $5 discount, she kept saying, "that's fine", but when we checked our charge, we did not receive the discount. For a gal out of work, every penny counts... With that said, they were wonderful folks with an incredible story to tell.
