What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

The grounds are lovely and peaceful. The owners Dennis and Erin present an overview of this breed and how it came to be in Ocala. Dennis is especially devoted to maintaining the dignity of the breed and the people that shared these wonderful horses with him. They are passionate about their work and don't limit their interest to horses. There are many colorful (and vocal) birds on the property, donkeys and mules, and a couple of the cutest goats you'll ever see. The horses are the stars, though, beautiful majestic, and sweet-natured. I highly recommend a visit.

We visited the farm today and absolutely loved the tour. We brought carrots and apples along. It was a fantastic morning learning the history of these magnificent horses and their owner. Fantastic stories and sharing the journey to bring the breed to our shores. Highly recommend a trip. The property and horses are stunning. Dennis shared his great great adventures and history.
