What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

What an unexpected treasure just a short drive from that entertainment mecca that is the Orlando area. Dennis is simply the kind of guy you would want to hang out and have a beer with (or glass of wine if you prefer) ! Personable, funny, an excellent tour guide and an absolute fountain of information on the subjects of both the Gypsy culture and the Gypsy Vanner Horse,...2 things you didn't even realize you were interested in and fascinated by until after you complete the tour. The history, intimate knowledge and personal experiences Dennis shares with you are irreplaceable, and not likely found in a book somewhere. I highly recommend taking a few hours off the path of the Mouse and take this opportunity to enjoy the wonderful 4-legged wonders and appreciate what can only be described as beauty in motion. Relax, talk, connect , admire, listen and learn, you WILL NOT regret it. For my wife and I, it was the highlight of our vacation

An excellent experience. The Gypsy horses are beautiful and unique.The staff provided a great service. The farm is a dream and a relax place to be.

My husband and I visited the farm last week while visiting Ocala. We arrived late for the tour, but wre quickly brought up to speed and joined in with the rest. Dennis is a great raconteur. He has a great many stories about gypsies, life, horses, you name it, but all in fun and interesting to hear. The animals are beautiful, friendly want to be patted. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit and thought that it was well worth the entrance fee.
