What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

Today we had the pleasure of visiting Gypsy Gold, a working breeding farm featuring Vanner horses. The owner, Dennis gave an informative presentation sprinkled with humor. Then he took us around the farm to see and pat the various horses. This is an amazing facility, the owner has a true love of animals. He answers every question, and is a friendly and engaging person. Don’t miss this!! All ages would love this!

We are visiting Ocala and our friends took us to the Gypsy Gold Horse Farm. FANTASTIC!!!! Good parking. Excellent introduction by Dennis, the actual owner of the farm. How often does AN OWNER give you a tour of an attraction!!!! Dennis very knowledgeable of the horse trade and the Gypsy Vanner horses!!!! Then gave us a walking tour of the farm, talking about each of the horses. Gave kids opportunity to get up on a horse. Erin very knowledgeable and answered lots of questions also. We had a great time!!!!

This is our second time visiting and will no doubt be back again. Extremely conscientious hosts with the safety of all the visitors in mind. The story of the breed's history is expertly presented and you walk away with a true love of the Gypsy Vanner horses.
