What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

Dennis the owner was a great speaker, very knowledgeable about his horses and kept you interested and he was funny, which we liked. The horses were just gorgeous and we loved his birds, mules, donkeys and goats also. Would highly recommend this tour. Also learned a lot about the Gypsy's, a great group of people.

This tour is a must and it was a very educational presentation which is done by the owner Dennis. The grounds and the horses are magical to see and Dennis is a remarkable and very interesting man. He has dreams for his long range passions of how these horses became so vital in his life. This is a fantastic tour, worth every penny. Thank you so much Dennis

While the location is certainly beautiful and the horses and animals are wonderful, the promised 45 minutes presentation about the horses and gypsy culture turned into a 1.5 rambling talk by the owner. Hard to describe, but it was a patchwork of horse names, random facts, lots of made up stuff and thrown in jokes that weren't made for all. In short I think the 5 star rating is highly overrated. Ocala has many better highlights than this. I have now seen it and won't recommend it to any of our oversea friends.
