What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

This tour was even better than I had anticipated!! The owner gave the history of the breed from the beginning in a very casual, sometimes humorous presentation and then walked everyone around the property showing the horses and other animals there. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves horses and animals in general. You will not be disappointed!!

I recently took three grandchildren to the farm to see the horses. This was my second visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our second visit. Dennis Thompson’s story never gets stale. He is a great at communicating the story of bringing the Gypsy Gold horses to the Ocala area. My seven year old granddaughter sat through the presentation and was never bored. Our 14 year old thoroughly enjoyed the large talking birds and dancing with a large bird. The bird was so entertaining, saying HI and then dancing up and down the branch he was on. My 16 month old granddaughter especially enjoyed the talking birds. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Yesterday we had a visitor who was taking their tenth tour and at the end of the tour, they commented on how they learned even more. Fantastic lecture and tour! The gentleman that owns the farm is a natural born storyteller and passionate about his subject matter. The horses are gorgeous, he also has donkeys, mules, parrots, and macaws.
