What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

Did not know what to expect, but got a great education on the horse breed & so much more. This was really worth the trip, time & money. It's a great place to go, but I would say that children under 12 would be bored with the first 45 min.+ of telling the story of the Gypsy horse.

Dear Daniel, thanks for the great review. We give young kids something to color for the first part and do our best to have them smiling big with a keepsake photo of themselves on a famous horse named BB King on the second half. The tour as you suggest is really geared for adults, but one day we will develop another gear that is engaged throughout :) Cheers, Dennis

A fun and educational experience! If you like horses you will like this tour. It begins with an entertaining and humorous talk by the farm owner and original founder of the Gypsy Vanner breed of horses. Then there’s a walk about the farm with Dennis the owner. We saw gorgeous horses ,stallions, mares and foals. Also he has donkeys of all types and a couple goats and tropical birds, parrots and cockatiels he even let the kids sit on one of the horses ! The horses were well cared for and very gentle. You could pet them and take all the pictures you wanted to. I would recommend this tour.

Dennis gave an extremely interesting lecture on the history of the Gypsy Vanner horse and how he and his late wife Cindy fell in love with this magnificent breed . On that day I purchased a colt by his stallion BB King. I am going again next week so my best friend can enjoy Dennis and his beautiful Gypsy Vanners.
