What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

I visited this ranch with my mom and my daughter while visiting Florida on vacation. Dennis was filled with knowledge and passion for both the culture and the horses he introduced to North America. The knowledge and passion that he shared with us before the tour made it that much better. You really felt immersed in what his mission and vision was for his ranch. It was a fantastic visit, a must see, and somewhere I would definately go back to!

Can't say enough good things about this experience!! Quite educational... presented in a candid, amusing at times, and educated manner. Well worth a visit... cannot believe we have lived so close to this jewel for 22 years and just learned about it from a friend!!! We will definitely make return trips!!

I visited Gypsy Gold, 2/16/19. The tour is split into half lecture and half tour of the farm with access to all the beautiful creatures that live on it. I think the less you actually know about the story before going in the better. 2 pieces of advice, use the actual address if using GPS. We were fine, but a lot of people had issues with directions due to Google. If you bring children 13 and under they may be a bit bored with the lecture part so you may want to bring something to entertain them, but they will love the farm tour. You can also walk around during the lecture part if you so choose, but you would be missing out. Thanks Dennis for sharing your story, your animals and your work. Hope your vision for the future of Gypsy Gold, all comes to fruition.
