Overview

This tour is for those who want to bike down by themselves at their own pace. The bike route is exactly the same as our Cycle to the Sea tour. It runs from 8 am to about 11:30 am. We take you up to an elevation of 6700' above sea level, give you instructions, then equip you with awesome Trek Hybrids and BIKING helmets...not full face motorcycle helmets. We leapfrog ahead you every 7 miles and wait for you, in case you want something to eat or drink, bike adjustment, or to take some pictures.We do this all the way down, so we are always close by. We are the only company that offers this service.

My husband really wanted to do the bike ride down the mountain, but neither of us really wanted to get up at 2am, wear a motorcycle helmet and keep pace with 10 other people. Then we read Maui Bombers website and Matt’s (owner/operator) solution was just what we were looking for. Later start time, very little traffic and leisurely pace. I was nervous about the ride, specifically the speed, the traffic and distance of the ride. Matt, totally, put me at ease as he explained how the ride would unfold, and that he would meet us at three points during the ride too make sure we were having a great time. We greatly appreciated the personal service, the nice informative van ride up the mountain, the comfortable mountain bikes with disc brakes (not beach cruisers like the other companies we saw) and a reasonable tour time done at our own pace. Matt’s Maui Bombers bike adventure was worth every penny.

Great fun and ride down was I think much better than being in a guided group. It was a shame we didn’t go up as far as the crater itself, been worth paying a bit extra to go all the way up. Can’t fault the bikes or service and of course the scenery is awesome.

Absolutely hands down the best customer service with incredible homemade muffins to boot. Matt the owner of Maui Bombers is what all small business strive to be. Professional yet personal and attentive to all your needs. Equipment was excellent and the muffins ( homemade ) we’re phenomenal. If your looking for the best cycling company on the island look no further. Thank you again Matt for going over the top and ensuring an incredible day with a homemade, hand delivered muffin finish !!
