We had a great time with Rio going down the Animas! Our kids (ages 8 and 12) experienced rafting for the first time and loved it. It was just rough enough to keep them on edge at times and calm enough for them to interact with our guide. Rio was knowledgeable, entertaining, and most of all accommodating to our young highly motivated son. My husband was tossed out of the raft during the class 3 rapids and Rio was very was there to pull him in and check for any injury. We had a blast and would do it all again! The pictures say it all!

We loved our rafting trip today. Our sons (ages 9 and 11) especially loved our tour guide, who was funny and knowledgeable about the river. He made it feel like a real adventure. The entire staff is helpful and friendly. Our guide was Sean and we would highly recommend a trip in his boat. You won't be disappointed! Most of the river was Class 1 or 2 rapids, but we did get a little Class 3 and the kids really loved that.

The best part about this trip was the guides. Both were great. We booked a half day trip in inflatable kayaks. Total time on the water was 3 hours, including a 30 minute stop about 10 minutes from the end of the trip. And we got upsold wet suits that we really did not need. I asked the crew before we left if my family of four really needed wet suits. "YES! you REALLY need them!" we were told. So we rented four wet suits at $17 person. then we got on the river and I noticed a family of eight, including young kids and grandparents in tubes (the kind you buy from wal mart) floating the river and loving it without wet suits. and none of the guides had them either. Considering I just spent $316 for the kayaks, I would have greatly appreciated the honest that wet suits really are not needed in early July.
