We went on a half-day lower Animas River tour in Durango. We made an impromptu visit to Durango in part to support the tourism that was being affected by the wildfires. On Monday, we booked the tour for 8am on Friday. On Tuesday, a rep called me to confirm. We were then in Mesa Verde for 2 days without any internet service. Apparently, on Wednesday night, they emailed me to move the tour time to 9am. There was no explanation as to why the time had changed or any option to cancel (we were within the the 48 hour window where you can't cancel). And I didn't notice this until Thursday night when I was scrolling through the 250 emails I had gotten since Tuesday. It would have been nice to have a phone call (or voice mail) to explain why the tour was changed from the time I booked. The rafting tour itself was fantastic. Beth was really awesome. We were the only customers on the raft, and the staff took great care of us. We made a stop at a bathroom partway through, which was nice. My six-year-old had a fantastic time. She loved the rapids, and we all thought the entire trip was really nicely done. The bus was nice, the drive was short, the safety talk was appropriate, and the equipment was quality. We did a similar rafting trip in Moab, and Mild to Wild was much more professional (despite the whole changing the rafting time) to deal with. We would hire them again.

Thanks for choosing Mild to Wild for both the Lower Animas River in Durango and the Colorado River in Moab. Fun you got to experience both a mountain river and a desert river. We are so sorry for the inconvenience of the hour time change on your trip in Durango. Glad you enjoyed Beth! She is a character. :)

Both the morning Jeep tour and the afternoon rafting tripps were outstanding. My group consists of a 57, 14, 13, and 10 year olds. Both Doug (Jeep tour guide) and Ben (rafting guide) were outstanding. They both were very knowledgeable and were good with keeping the children engaged. I would highly recommend Mild to Wild to anyone visiting the Durango, CO area

Thanks for your recommendation! We greatly appreciate it. Looks like Doug and Ben did their job well....although when you love sharing the adventures of the SW as much as they do, it is not really a job! Thanks again for your kind words.

This was our first experience with white water. While in Durango, we wanted to plan activities that would keep 4 teens entertained. We did the morning jeep tour that took us to Silverton (diverted from la plata due to fire) and 2nd half of day on lower animas. Jay and Doug were a good pair that were a wealth of historical info. The sights are spectacular...lots of waterfalls and cliffs. We got to pick up a quick bite for lunch before heading down the hill. Skip to afternoon: There is something about water that calms all ages. Ruby was super engaging, funny and kept the trip exciting. Would highly recommend the trip. The entire crew with mild to wild are really friendly and genuinely happy. It's contagious.Rent the booties. Keeps feet warm regardless of water temp.
