Mild to Wild is the go to. From the time you walk into the storefront, to meeting the guides who outfit you is quick, efficient and full of friendly and solid banter. I was traveling with my slightly cautious 13 yr old and I was looking for something super fun yet not to terrifying. August on the Animas River delivered just that. Cannot say enough about our guide Josh and we saw quite a few guides and companies on the river today. Josh has a great sense of humor, he is respectful and he has the ability to set you at ease with the experience he and his crew have while going over the crazy mandatory "what if's". We learned so much about Durango, the history, the buildings and our raft mates because he is that guy who makes you the most important. Josh is a great communicator and allowed us some pretty fun extra curricular activities within the river that made the experience so much more rewarding when the water is a bit more calm. Cannot say enough about this company, staff and experience. We are already talking about going back for the 3 day raft/camp sesh!

John was our guide and was amazing. He was very informative and super friendly. We did for the half day of the lower animas river. We took our 3 kids and they rocked it.

Fun trip. Water was flowing slowly, and the experience was different than we anticipated because of that, but our guide Julio did his best to keep things lively. It might help for the guides to explain to all rafters at the beginning of the float that there will be some significant time spent waiting for all rafters to board their rafts and there will be time spent hanging on the river awaiting other rafts to keep up. Overall, we enjoyed our float and really recommend Mild and Wild. Great guides who created fun for everyone.
