What To Expect

Wailua River State Park

Paddle the majestic Wailua River for 2 miles each way (4 miles total round trip), original home of the first Hawaiians, who paddled 1500 miles from the Marquesas Islands to Kaua`i almost 1500 years ago. Hear the legends and learn about the flora and fauna of Kauai`s most sacred area.

Secret Falls (Uluwehi Falls)

After hiking 1 1/4 miles through the rain forest our guides will take clients to Secret Falls also known as Uluwehi Falls. This beautiful waterfall cascades 110 feet into a refreshing swimming hole, where they can go for a dip and enjoy a terrific lunch! You will then hike 1 1/4 miles back to your kayak (2 1/2 miles of hiking round trip) Bring Closed Toed Shoes / Reef shoes / Teeva Style Sandals

Getting prepped and loaded up on our kayak was quick and easy after a short tutorial with our excellent guide Jordan, who was also a pleasure to have guiding us and he was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the area and it’s history. We stopped a few times to talk about the horticulture, and the history of the land as it was used by the royal families. You can’t help but be in awe of such a beautiful place

One of the coolest excursions we did on our honeymoon in Hawaii! The kayaking was fun and the river scenery was beautiful, the jungle hike to the waterfall was like nothing I've ever done before with a ton of different terrain and vies. The waterfall was the best we saw in hawaii and was breathtaking! Our guide even left 10 minutes early in the morning since our group was all there and we were the first ones to the fall and got to experience the peace of it before it got crowded. Our guide, Thomas, was incredibily knowledgeable about Hawaii and shared it with us throughout the hike and paddle. He also had a great sense of humor! Highly reccommend!!

Of course the waterfall was amazing but the tour met ultimate perfection with our tour guide Zachary. I had disclosed it was my first time kayaking and I was a bit anxious about going on the river but I was paired up with a strong kayaker, him, and the anxiety subsided. To do the tour you may want to have some stability ankle strength as you are walking on and at times over rocks. I set this tour out as a challenge as I had sprained my ankle pretty bad a couple years ago and wanted to see if I could do it. I could but I put some work into balance and ankle strength. I’m 5’3 and the river went up to touch my lower glute but the water isn’t freezing. It’s refreshing. Buy one of those phone water cases that hang on your neck prior to the trip so you can take photos while on the tour and have the comfort of you phone being protected.I had a blast. I’d 100% do this trip again.
