Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys

Overview

Come join us snorkeling some of the most beautiful reefs within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. We have many possible reefs to explore: Molasses, Elbow, French Reef and the famous Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks. These protected areas offer an opportunity to see turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels and a variety of different fish. These special reefs are part of the 3rd largest living reef system in the world and the ONLY living coral reef in the US. We stop at two different locations on the reef. Each stop is determined by the captain based on the day's conditions. We cannot guarantee any specific site.

In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that ends up in our oceans, we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We have water coolers in our shop and on our boats for your convenience!

What a awesome time! It was a little windy out on the reef but still great! We saw lots of fish and a couple of sharks. The crew was awesome! Captain Russell did a great job getting us there and back safely and Cutler was awesome. He did a great job explaining to the people new to snorkeling what to expect and made sure everyone new the safety rules. While I didn't scuba dive personally, Gia did a great job making sure all the scuba divers knew what to do and sounds like she found a couple cool places for them to dive too. The whole crew was professional but also very friendly and made everyone comfortable and that we had fun! The whole experience was awesome and it is great value for a 1/2 day trip as well. Highly recommend Pirate's Cove and will definitely use them for any future ocean adventures in Key Largo. :)

The crew and guides were incredibly fun and helpful throughout our entire experience! Loved the fact that they explained exactly what we might expect and experience in the open water which provided a sense of calmness throughout the experience. Because of their good tips, I was able to fully relax and enjoy the fact that I might encounter a shark without any concern knowing that “I’m not on the menu “. Best snorkeling trip in the Keys because of the crew’s laidback attitude (yet provided all of the important information) that made the experience super enjoyable! Definitely recommend!

Captain Pete, Hadrian (sp?) and Jose, were excellent! Our boat was fun and we were able to stop at two reefs and see the underwater Jesus. Great weather and great crew! Very informative on everything local as well!
