Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys

Overview

Come join us snorkeling some of the most beautiful reefs within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. We have many possible reefs to explore: Molasses, Elbow, French Reef and the famous Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks. These protected areas offer an opportunity to see turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels and a variety of different fish. These special reefs are part of the 3rd largest living reef system in the world and the ONLY living coral reef in the US. We stop at two different locations on the reef. Each stop is determined by the captain based on the day's conditions. We cannot guarantee any specific site.

In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that ends up in our oceans, we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We have water coolers in our shop and on our boats for your convenience!

We recently went snorkeling with Pirates Cove. It was a very nice day to be on the water and the staff did a very good job with the tour. We were on a fairly large boat with a combination of divers and snorkelers. I thing the boat was full but there was adequate room for everyone. It seemed to take awhile to get started but we still received the full time for the tour, which included two snorkeling stops. Both stops were on reefs in very smooth (and warm) water. The currents were heavy so the boat was positioned so that we swam upstream and were able to float back.....this was much appreciated. It was clear that the crew was very concerned about safety. There was a variety of coral and fish at both sites. We recommend Pirates Cove!

We enjoyed seeing all the beautiful sea life! Great experience! Captain Hadriam and captain Pete were awesome! They are very knowledgeable and explained everything step by step. They made us feel very comfortable on our first snorkeling trip as a family. They took extra time with my son and husband during their first experience. We will definitely be back again!
