Half-Day Thoroughbred Horse Farm Tour in Kentucky

Overview
Discover why Lexington, Kentucky is known as the Horse Capital of the World on this 3.5-hour narrated tour with transportation provided on a comfortable 14-person passenger van. The tour is not all on the van, though, as destination stops are made at world famous Keeneland Race Course* and one or more of the beautiful Thoroughbred horse farms that combine to make the Lexington region the true epicenter of Thoroughbred breeding in the United States ... and beyond.

All tours are given by very experienced local guides who share a wealth of stories about the history of the local area, farms, bourbon production and the Thoroughbred horse -- the world's most desired breed for winning the world's most prestigious races.

* NOTE: All tour itineraries can vary/change depending on changing destination and farm availability on the specific day of the tour. This is true for all of the venues (including Keeneland at its discretion) and the Thoroughbred horse farms.

We went on the morning tour so we go to see horses training at Keeneland. Loved seeing private farms and at Magdalena we got to get out of the van and walk through the horse barn petting the horses and then out to the pasture to see the mares and foals. Vicki was our guide and she was wonderful. Vicki was very knowledgeable and knows the history of the area, horses and farms. 3 hours flew by.

Mike was very knowledgeable and works at Keeneland so had some great insight. You go to places that you wouldn’t go on your own.

This was an amazing tour. Our tour guide, Mike, was extremely knowledgeable. Mike kept us fully engaged for the entire tour. Besides being so knowledgeable, Mike was funny and personable. He answered all of our questions and clearly explained everything. Mike made us feel like insiders around the track and horse farms. It was clear that he loves his job. The van was spacious and comfortable. If you love horses and racing this is the tour for you.
