Our family of 6 (mom, dad, 21, 19, 17, and 14 year olds) booked a private 1/2 day white water rafting trip. We were a little hesitant about this trip the day before since the forecast was for rainy and cool weather, but decided we would go regardless since we would be getting wet anyways. They provided everything we needed to stay warm- wetsuits, splash jackets, and booties. And with lifejackets on top of that, even though it was overcast and in the upper 50s, we were fine even though we got pretty wet (the boys by choice because they jumped in the river when given the opportunity- water temp 40-45 degrees). Due to Covid-19, we were required to wear face coverings for the short bus ride to the entry point even though it was just the 6 of us, the guide, and the bus driver, but not for the rafting trip. The trip itself was really fun. A great family experience including lessons on working together and following the guides instructions. Our guide, Will, did a great job explaining how to stay safe, getting us safely through the rapids, informing us about the local geography, and answering any questions we had. We never felt unsafe the entire time- just the right mix of exhilaration but not impeding doom. Two added bonuses were 1) Due to the weather and Covid, we never saw any other rafts or boats on the river. We felt like we were the only ones there. 2) Saw a momma deer and 2 cute little babies on the shoreline as well as some really beautiful scenery. Would highly recommend this trip for anyone with a sense of adventure!
