George really made our tour in Harlem an authentic experience. The tour went at a nice slow pace - perfect on a hot Summer day! The area has so much to offer and some really interesting history. It was great to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Manhattan for a few hours, and to have such a passionate local as our guide really topped off the experience.

We learned so much from Dolores, who was very generous with her knowledge and time. We walked much of Harlem north of 140th street and finished the tour in lower Harlem. She pointed out the highlights, discussed the architecture and shared, from her well-informed perspective, the history of Harlem. We did not do Hamilton's house as it was closed, but returned a few days later for a tour by a National Parks Service employee and found it immensely informative.

What a fantastic tour with an even more fantastic guide!! George was one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had - and we’ve done a lot of walking tours, especially in New York. He was so so knowledgable about Harlem and happy to answer any question we had, which he did with great enthusiasm! The pace was good, we saw some great sights which we wouldn’t have seen otherwise and would recommend this tour to anyone. Request George as your guide if you can :)
