What To Expect

Harlem

Walk in the footsteps of iconic events and leaders of Harlem's civil rights movement. Over a 2 hour period you will visit churches, theaters, residences / homes associated with the 1960's and 1970's period in Harlem.

Apollo Theater

We enter the lobby area with born and raised Harlem tour guide who will explain the history of the Apollo Theater, guests will have great photo opportunity to take pics against murals of entertainments who started their careers at the Apollo Theater.

I can say this was the best tour I've ever taken This man knows every corner and every street in Harlem, and he has told us in interesting detail the stories that have shaped this neighborhood culturally and through chronological history. What really struck me was that despite his passion for the history of this neighborhood, he was not biased in telling a story or a character at the expense of the rest. He showed us landmarks, restaurants and music, famous photo spots, and locations where films were filmed or witnessed important rallies and speeches. I am really happy and satisfied with this tour. بإمكاني القول أن هذه الجولة كانت أفضل جولة أقوم بها على الإطلاق هذا الرجل يعرف كل ركن وكل شارع في هارلم، وقام باطلاعنا بشكل مفصل وممتع على قصص تشكل هذا الحي ثقافياً وعبر تاريخ زمني. ما لفت نظري حقاً أنه برغم شغفه بتاريخ هذا الحي لم يكن منحازاً لرواية قصة أو شخصية على حساب البقية. قام باطلاعنا على المعالم البارزة، المطاعم والموسيقى، وأماكن التقاط الصور الشهيرة، والمواقع التي صورت فيها أفلام أو شهدت مسيرات وخطابات مهمة. أنا حقاً سعيدة وراضية عن هذه الجولة.

Our guide Neil was a superb orator and brought the modern history of Harlem to life. His respect and joy for his home district was palpable and infectious. I and my travel chum thought it was the most interesting and fun activity we did whilst in New York. I would like to go back there and explore more
