The curator of this series, Craig Harris, is a venerable presence on the NYC jazz scene, and he uses his network to bring in world class musicians every week. I have been 4-5 times in the last few months, and each time I sit in awe, and comfort, to be thrilled by bravura performances. I will keep coming.

I visited the Harlem Jazz Series after reading wonderful reviews on Yelp which convinced me to go solo. The location is central to most places in Harlem, and was inside of a lovely church. It was the best, intimate way to see jazz live. The Tony Lewis Quartet performed and it was a truly invaluable experience. The concert lasted about 1.5 hours with a break for the musicians and light crowd discussion at the break. All of the people leading the session were kind and welcoming. Support local musicians and check this out! You won't regret it.

What a a wonderful way to spend a Tuesday afternoon. The musicians are very accomplished. I was sorry that there were only a few people there enjoying it with us but that didn't damped our enthusiasm for the music or the experience.
