Your Apollo Theater Multimedia Walking Tour starts at the Apollo Theater 253 West 125th Street.

Harlem

The Harlem walking tour portion will feature pictures, video and sound presented at sights where history happened, special attention will be paid to music history and Harlem legends launched to stardom from the world famous Apollo Theater stage.

Apollo Theater

You will end with a back-stage tour of Apollo Theater where we will host our very own mock “Amateur Night at the Apollo.” You will have the chance to go on the Apollo Theater stage and perform in the very spot where greats like Michael Jackson, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald and many others started their careers – lets see if you have what it takes to be an Apollo star!

Although the tour guide (Neal) was friendly the tour had NONE of the things mentioned in the ad. We did visit the museum we only stood in the lobby as he explained some of the history of Harlem we never saw a video or any multi media. He spent a great deal of time talking about himself. We did walk through some of Harlem but never went into any other building. Although the ad says that we would go into the Apollo Theater and be able to walk on the stage. NONE OF THAT HAPPENED. In fact, we were not allowed to go into the building at all. He spoke outside the theater for about 10 minutes and then the tour ended. I asked the Apollo employees about going into the building and they said Neal's tour did not have permission to do that. I have taken other TripAdvisor tours and they have All been very good. Not this one. I would like a full refund because this tour was a joke.

After navigating my way to the Schomburg Research center for the tour departure meeting location I was called and told that the tour guide was injured and would not be able to make it. The person calling said that he was at the Apollo and would either reschedule my tour or refund me the money I opted for the refund because my trip was ending the next day. I have yet to receive a refund and the phone number voice mail is always full. I don’t know how to get my money back!!!!!!
