Frieda was TERRIFIC! She is extremely organized making every step of the tour clear and understandable. It started with the photo Frieda sent of the location where the tour starts. What a help for those of us not familiar with Williamsburg! I have taken 50+ tours in the last few years in the US and Europe and it can be extremely anxiety producing if you don't know exactly where the tour starts. We easily found Frieda and she was prepared with quality earphones for everyone so that we could always hear her commentary as we walked. Frieda respectfully explained the Hasidic traditions in great detail and in a very engaging way. She asked questions of what we might know and also answered all of our questions. Since Frieda had been a part of the Hasidim, she is very knowledgeable about how the people think and what their values are. Frieda also included some stops along the way where we saw typical toys and tasted typical foods. These helped us further understand the community. Frieda had begun with introductions asking everyone what they hoped to get from the tour. Then, at the end, we sat in a deli with some typical kosher samples and Frieda gave us th eopportunity to comment or ask questions. Frieda was very open and yet always respectful of this community to which she no longer belongs. This tour was one the very best I have ever taken. Thank you, Frieda!!!!!

Our tour was amazing! It was a small walking tour and this was NOT the big group van tour that many complain about. Our tour guide was so knowledgable, kind, and perceptive. Growing up in this community gave her first hand knowledge and insight; she was vested in us understanding and respecting the traditions, language, beliefs and people here. We were frequently fed (she tried to even find me gluten free options) and all our questions were answered. I would recommend this one-owner small tour business to everyone! It was a highlight of my trip!

I am ending a 6 day trip to NYC. I spent a day at Ellis Island, went to the Tentement Museum and many other museums and tours on my quest to gather information on immigration in NYC for a project I am writing for my students. Frieda’s tour was the best thing I did the ENTIRE trip. Her first hand knowledge of Hasidism was very helpful. Her respectful attitude toward all and her willingness to answer any question the group threw at her was amazing. We had lots of them! This is not like ANY other tour you will take in NYC. Promise you will love it and learn a lot.
