Our tour guide was Tammy and she took us to a bunch of fantastic places. There are so many great places to eat and drink in Healdsburg, this was a great way to sample food and drink at many different places. I especially loved the tea tasting at The Taste of Tea. It was unexpected (tea in wine country? YES!) and very informative. I went with three other friends and we had a great time.

I’ve been to Healdsburg plenty of times, but had no idea some of the places we visited even existed! Tammy was wonderful and the food/drinks were terrific! She did a great job telling us about each place we were visiting, as well as other random fun facts about Healdsburg. Quick recap of the tour: First stop was Healdsburg SHED, which gives you that farm-to-fork experience. It’s kind of like a mini public market inside. Tried a potato and green beans with humus dish, along with a carrot humus and beet tzatziki + some other really tasty things! Perfect place for any of your veggie loving friends! Second stop was Cafe Lucia, which is Portuguese cuisine. We had some “green wine” paired with their chourico crusted day boat scallops. SO. Good. Seriously, probably the best scallops I’ve ever had! Will definitely haver to go back here next time I’m in Healdsburg. Third stop was wine tasting at Gustafson. We tried a Rose of Syrah, Riesling, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah and they were fantastic. You can also buy all the wines you tried at a special discount price, exclusive to Savor Healdsburg tour guests only!… Wine always makes a great gift! ;) Fourth stop was a tapas place, Bravas Bar De Tapas. I really enjoyed this place! We tried a couple of different dishes here: -Goat cheese toast with golden onions and white truffle honey -Creamy chicken, ham and gruyere cheese croquetas -Patatas bravas - fried potatoes with a spicy tomato sauce and garlic aioli -Your choice of red, white, or cava (sparkling wine) sangria Last stop was Moustache Baked Goods, where I got The Butcher cupcake: vanilla maple spice frosting with crispy local bacon on top. Delicious. We were also joined by a couple, who were both visually impaired and had guide dogs. I only mention this because a. they were wonderful people and b. Tammy was so gracious with them, as well as all of the restaurants that we visited. I think that says a lot about not just Tammy, but the relationships that she's created with each establishment on her tour. It made my heart happy. Anyway, I work for a wine/food tour company in Santa Barbara and it’s always fun to see what other ones are doing. I think the biggest thing for people is always price. $89 always seems a little steep, but when you really think about it with the amount of food, drinks, etc you’re getting, it’s well worth it! And this tour is definitely worth it. So, do it. :)

What a great way to spend an early afternoon in Healdsburg! Starting off at SHED we tasted delectable carrot hummus and shredded beet salad with flat bread and a glass of shrub. Then Café Lucia's scallops showed us the romance of Portugal and it's cooking. Moving onto wine tasting at Portalupi wines, and their amazing Barbera - buy a bottle it's delicious with its layers of fruit and spices. We finished with ice cream at Noble Folk, not your everyday ice cream they have flavors like matcha almond green tea. We could've done this on our own, but the afternoon was made special and memorable because our tour guide Tammy explained every dish, what farms and wineries the food and wine came from and wove it together masterfully with stories and anecdotes of the the culture and history of Healdsburg. I highly recommend this tour.
