During our "Gourmet Healdsburg Tour" a small group of us (4 people) were led by Tammy on a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. We strolled from one place to the next around the Healdsburg Plaza area and visited a selection of establishments that were perfectly chosen. Here are some of our favorites: We started out at The SHED where we tasted a flavorful selection of organic farm foods crafted into tasty salads and unique creations. We savored every single bite, a perfect way to start the tour. The SHED incorporates their food selections into a store which highlights all kinds of agricultural food products and cooking tools. From there, we visited CAFE LUCIA, which specializes Portuguese cuisine, and during our delicious tasting, the owner took time to talk to us and explained the origins of the food selections as well as the background of her own family who started their culinary adventure on a Portuguese island before embarking on their journey to America. We proceeded to walk a couple of blocks to stop at BRAVAS, an authentic Spanish tapas restaurant. In addition to a glass of Sangria, we were able to sample a nice selection of tapas which were the best I've had. There is also a nice patio in the back with an outdoor bar which makes for a nice ambience. Another welcome addition to the tour was our visit to THE TASTE OF TEA, a new tea lounge with an eclectic mix of tea creations which also incorporates relaxation and spa-like offerings if desired. The owner shared her vast experience of Japanese style tea houses and she is putting a special spin on the concept. To round things off, Tammy also included a wine bar/tasting room and an ice cream dessert place to the tour. The way Tammy put this tour together makes it easy for out-of-towners to get an overview of some of the culinary delights this town has to offer. The tour was also an enjoyable and very informative social gathering where Tammy shared a lot of her knowledge and experience. Do yourselves a favor and go on this tour!

This was my first experience taking a food tour. I really liked the way Tammy had everything set up. We stopped at six places, where we had a little something from each. At all stops, except one, we were able to meet and talk with the owner, chef, or someone else who was knowledgeable. I thought the tour was a fun way to see some of what Healdsburg has to offer. Tammy was very personable and I felt like I was going around town with someone I already knew. I would recommend this tour for anyone visiting the area because it's something different to do.

We loved this guided food tour with about 6 stops for various small bites and sips. Tammy shared lots of information about the locations, history, and background on the places we visited. Our particular tour included a tea room which was a pleasant surprise amidst the wine country! At each stop the reastaurant or tasting room was ready for our visit and we felt like special quests. The food we enjoyed was fabulous, and can't wait to visit the area again and dine in these places. Consider doing this tour early in your itinerary so you have time to revisit and eat again at the stops on the tour.
