Four of us took the 2:30 savor healdsburg food tour on a recent Saturday in September and really enjoyed it. Like other food tours we have taken in Scottsdale, Chicago and Paris, you will want to come hungry and wear comfy shoes. What's great about a food tour is that you spend a couple of hours (or 3 in our case) exploring a city and getting exposed to some of the little place that you might not find on your own. Someone else has done all the research and all you have to do is show up and have fun. This tour, like others we've been on seeks out really local spots and you will get to taste some of what makes each spot remarkable. You will also be very full. Our first stop was a place called Shed were we had a refreshing beverage, a slice of the gourmet pizza of the day and a large platter with cheese, humus and stone ground crackers. Next it was off to Campo Fino where we had a couple of small meatball in a hearty red sauce, bread and a glass of zin. Next was a full-fledged wine tasting where we enjoyed 8 wines. After that a great Tapas place called Bravas where we sat in the shade on a great outdoor patio and were treated to our choice of sangria along with a couple of house specialties. After that, we ended at a tiny bakery, moustache, and we were allowed to each choose something from their case. Needless to say most in the group got dessert "to go" The other part that makes these tours fun is the people you meet. The total group was 8, 4 of us from Minneapolis, a couple from Seattle, and a young couple from the Bay Area. With seemingly great weather always in Northern California, this is a nice way to get a little fresh air and take in some great food. The owner and host, Tammy does a great job explaining the stories behind all the spots and ensuring all have a good time.

Four of us participated in Taste of Healdsburg Food Tour on a very hot October Saturday afternoon. It was our very first time in Healdsburg and didn't know what to expect. Tammy the nice guide lady introduced us to six different places - Portuguese restaurant, wine tasting foom, French bakery, Spanish tapas restaurant, the SHED, and the cupcake bakery. All of them were so very good! I can't go back to all of them again in the future! I would recommend this tour highly if you are visiting in Healdsburg or in the neighboring towns. Since there are so many restaurants and wine tasting rooms, I think it's a great way to be introduced to what Healdsburg has to offer. You get at least one full meal worth of food if not more and all the helpful informatino from Tammy. Walking is easy comfortable pace. Tammy was very nice and fun to spend afternoon with and had los of information to share, especially some good wine tasting spots with good views and picnic space. We'll definitely be vising some of those :-)

If you are going to Healdsburg, you need to do this tour. We went to several hot spots around town and had a fabulous time. Tammy was knowledgeable about the community, the food and a very good tour guide. She had good relationships with all vendors and you could tell this was a thoughtful, well planned event. While I went with girlfriends, I called my husband raving. I can't wait to come back. If you enjoy food, you will enjoy this tour. Eat a light breakfast! While they are only samplings, there is enough there for a substantial lunch. We couldn't even eat our yummy cupcakes until that evening. Thanks Tammy- we had a blast!!!!! The Amys and Sandy.
