Helicopter Combo Tour in Ketchikan

Overview

This 45-minute tour is a combination of two of our best, Mahoney Falls and Top of the World. You will fly out to a 1500 foot waterfall, with the possibility of seeing mountain goats. Then fly along the George Inlet and up to our exclusive helipad on an 2000 foot mountain with views of the Canadian Rockies and Prince of Wales Island. You will stay on the helipad for 10 - 20 minutes to take pictures and enjoy your surroundings. The remainder of the 30-minute flight flies over the Tongass Narrows, Ketchikan, and the cruise ships.

*Please note, despite misconception, Ketchikan does not have glaciers*

What To Expect

Tongass National Forest

You will be flown around snow-capped mountains, at 1500' waterfall and land on our exclusive helipad on top of an 2000 foot mountain for 10 - 20 minutes of peace, tranquility and fabulous views of the Canadian Rockies and Prince of Wales Island.

The overall 5 star rating is well deserved. We stayed in Ketchikan for 10 days and did about every tour available. This tour was no less than outstanding. Our pick-up was exactly on time at the designated location and the driver was a pleasure. Our pilot, Tyler, could not have been more profession or entertaining. We were stymied from some of the planned views like the waterfalls because of the mist and fog. However, Tyler turned this around and got us up close and personal to the lakes, hills, and a group of mountain goats, a rare sight I really appreciated. The views were surreal, a Jurassic Park-like experience. We wrapped the tour up by flying up the southern coast of the island where we saw a feeding mother bear and cubs next to one of the hatcheries. This tour was a wonderful life experience for both my wife and I. Kudos to the entire Helicopter Air Alaska team.

Tyler was the best pilot. He was very nice and knowledgeable about the area. Loved the tour. You could tell he loved his job and really enjoyed getting to know us.

We were lucky enough to have a clear beautiful day and the views were amazing! Tyler was our pilot and he did a great job at answering questions and telling about the area. It was amazing to see the mountain goats, waterfall, lakes and islands from above. We spent the whole weekend in Ketchikan and this was one of the highlights of our trip!
