Overview

The ultimate multi activity package: a helicopter tour, a dogsled tour and a landing on the lower glacier to explore the melt pools and crevasses.

Start this adventure with a spectacular helicopter ride over glaciers and icebergs. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and mountain goats. Land on a huge snow field high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with Alaskan sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer long. Take the dog team for an exhilarating dogsled ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team if you want, or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team.

After the tour the helicopter takes you to the lower glaciers where you will land on the hard ice between the crevasses to see the majestic blue melt pools.

First time in a helicopter and this trip was amazing - everything I was expecting and more! Felt very safe the entire time with our pilot who was great. The team at the summer training camp were very informative and took the time to let us each have a turn mushing. Being able to be with the champion dogs on snow in the summer was incredible. This is absolutely one of the best adventures we've experienced.

Absolutely incredible experience! I highly recommend this—The whole experience is out-of-this-world awesome. My husband and I went with our 10 yr old daughter, and all of us were nervous at first to go in the helicopter, but we are SO glad we did! Our pilot, Ben Habecker, was great-really professional, experienced, and calm. He had us at ease as we flew over amazing scenery and took pictures as we made our way to Knik Glacier where we saw the dogs below us. As soon as we got out, the awesome staff who work with the dogs greeted us, and each one was super nice, really funny, and clearly so dedicated to the dogs. They explained the careful operation they run, how all the dogs are cared for and trained, how they live up there for months on end, and how they have to cart everything off the glacier in the winter so as to not leave a trace behind. The staff and the dogs are amazing. I got to “mush” behind the professional musher, and my husband and daughter sat in the sled to take pictures and just hold on. It was a blast!! After the ride, we got to meet all the dogs and then see and hold the puppies! My daughter loves Huskies so this was absolutely a memory she’ll hold with her forever! We all will! Thank you to all the staff for the incredible experience they gave us. I highly recommend, unless you’re scared of heights—If you are, the helicopter ride may be too much ;)
