We went on this nature walk with Haley the last week of July. Directions to the Smoky Mountain meeting place were clear and easy to follow. Haley met us and we followed her to the start of the trail. We hiked the trail in about two hours. It could have been longer if we choose to take more pictures at each waterfall. It was a great way to interact with nature's beauty. Haley was a phenomenal guide. Her knowledge of the Smoky Mountains, plant life, animals etc...was exceptional. It is very evident that she loves the environment and that enthusiasm comes across throughout the hike while listening to her to the history of the Smoky Mountains. One member of our group was a little apprehensive at times on the trail. Haley was exceptional with the way she treated this group member. Haley helped instill confidence, encouragement, and she showed compassion for the hiker that was doing her best. The hiker had balance concerns and Haley was there at every challenging portion of the path to lend encouragement and literally a helping hand when needed. She was determined to make this experience memorable for everyone in the group. This was one of our favorite activities while we were in Gatlinburg, Tennessee for a week. Thanks Haley for making the Natural Pools and Waterfalls hike an experience we will never forget.

We were so lucky to have gotten hooked up with A Walk in the Woods through NOC with an offer for a hike as part of a trip package! We ended up with a private hike with Hailey. Even though it was raining to start, it moved out quickly and we had a great time on a primaries trail in the Greenbrier area. She was very knowledgable, really engaged our teenaged kids, made sure we were comfortable with the pace and took the time to point out the special features of the Smokies.

My wife and I are not hikers by any means but wanted to experience the Smokey Mountains in a different way during our visit to Tennessee. We signed up for A Walk in the Woods last week and met at the appropriate location. We were met by our guide, Tillie, only to find that we were the only ones on the tour! How lucky for us! We had a personal hike with a knowledgeable, friendly, and kind young lady that could easily have been our daughter. We drove to the start of the trail then strolled up the trail, stopping to look at different trees and plants, a cemetery, relics from the early settlers until we reached an old barn from a hundred years ago where we took shelter from a sudden downpour which lasted until our tour ended. Tillie was a wonderful guide and we are so glad we did this little hike and it gave us a great opportunity to meet a nice young lady and to learn a little bit about the Smoky Mountains. This was just the right pace for non hikers and was a great way to get "into the woods"!
