What a terrific first time backpacking experience!!! Our wonderful guide, Vesna, took us on an unforgettable "walk in the woods" that included three days and two nights in the lovely woods of the Smoky Mountains. I'm a 61 years young woman and had never done a trip like this before. It was so much fun and very educational. My daughter and I hiked with two great gals from North Carolina so in addition to a great time we made new friends!! I would highly recommend "A Walk In The Woods" for anyone who wants to get the most from a Smoky Mountain experience. Very knowledgeable, informative, and experienced guide service!!!!! Go Hike!!

Our family booked the Hidden Waterfall half day hike and it was a wonderful and memorable experience for all of us. It is not easy finding something that the whole family will enjoy and this was perfect. It's quite a bit of exercise, but it felt great!! Mike was a great guide and kept two boys (18 and 12) very engaged and interested in learning about the local nature throughout the whole morning. He very obviously loves his job and he loves this area and he is great at what he does. We will definitely book another hike with Walk in the Woods when we return to the Smoky Mountains! This National Park is huge and going out with a guide, if you want to go deeper into the trails, is a really good idea for novice hikers! This was worth every penny... my kids are still quoting Mike several days later. :-)

We went on a guided three day backpacking trip in the Smoky Mountains. The whole experience was amazing. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and really treated us well being helpful and motivating at the right times. The park itself is a gem, great views, lots of wildflowers and creatures to see. We rented gear and it was all highest quality and in great condition. It was the best vacation I have taken with my two teenage boys as we totally disconnected from our normal world and connected with each other and with nature. Highly recommend for either experienced backpackers or for someone looking for way to introduce backpacking to their family.
