We, a group of three, took the Night Prowl and the Days Gone By hikes. Excellent guides, and loved learning about the area and history. As an individual with an interest leaning toward wildlife and wild places more than history, I took great pleasure in the the night hike with Mike (a genuine, well-informed, and fun guide) but Sam was super, too, in teaching us about the sisters who settled in the mountains and stayed after their farm became part of the Great Smoky National Park. Highly recommend A Walk in the Woods! You'll learn a lot!

What a great experience we had with A Walk In the Woods. While technically all they did was shuttle us from one trailhead to another so we could hike up Mount Leconte, the information they provided along the way was invaluable. Eric, our driver, is an encyclopedia of information on the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Very cool stuff. Can't wait to go back down there and take a guided hike with them.

We did the hidden waterfall walk with Mike. He was wonderful. He pointed out so many things that you would never have even seen while on a hike. We were able to use that knowledge the next day when we went out on our own. We hiked with two other groups. My oldest daughter was a little disappointed that we were not able to hike to the cemetery due to shortness of time. Mike was able to suggest some other cemetery's that we could do on our own. I would recommend this to each person going to the mountains!!!! It was a highlight of our trip!!! Thanks MIke and A Walk In The Woods. We will be suggesting you to everyone we know that is visiting the Smokies!!!
