This was our first guided tour of the Smoky Mountains and I was very pleased with my guide and the services provided. My daughter, boyfriend, and I hiked with Mike and Boyd. He was very informational and well informed on the mountains. He kept us all engaged and safe throughout the entire walk. I was worried my daughter would not like an educational experience during Spring Break, but after the hike, she was sad it was over. She said she enjoyed the adventure and learning at the same time. I know if we ever visit Gatlinburg again, I will most definitely use A Walk in the Woods for our hiking services. The site lists this trail as moderate with some difficult spots, but Mike gave us all the safety pointers and tip to ensure we were safe and comfortable. I would advise to wear shoes you don't mind getting wet!!! Overall it was an awesome experience that made us appreciate nature all over again!!!!

I thought I knew the Great Smoky Mountains National Park reasonably well until the proprietors of "A Walk in the Woods" (Erik and Vesna) showed me more microscopic and macroscopic natural wonders in a day than I had been able to find by myself in more than a decade of annual visits! At the end of our walk, everyone in my group was thrilled. I saw, touched, smelled, tasted and/or learned so many things to ooh and aah about that it's difficult to remember all of them! I was also pleased with the affordable price for such a unique adventure. This a good way to experience some of the famous as well as many lesser known treasures of the Smokies.

My husband and I took a five hour Walk in the Woods with Samantha to learn about the plants, animals, history, and beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. Although we walked only five and a half miles, we learned so much!! Her knowledge of the plant life, trees, and history was exceptional. She loved to answer any and all questions that we asked. (My husband has been hiking the Appalachian Trail for over 20 years, and was so impressed with the knowledge Sam shared with us!) I am over sixty and was able to do this walk with no problem at all! Samantha was well prepared, and even provided some special treats, such as sassafras and hemlock teas! We will definitely do another trip with this company when we return to Gatlinburg!
