Overview

A fast and fun wildlife adventure awaits your family aboard our zodiac-style vessels (rigid inflatable boats). This cruise of up to 20 passengers gives you a thrilling 2-hour look at Southern California’s year-round whales and dolphins. With speeds of 30 knots or more, you’ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! Your zodiac adventure will have you incredibly close to the ocean’s surface and within arm’s reach of wildlife. At the conclusion of your cruise, you'll receive one of Mrs. Capt. Dave's famously delicious Triple Fudge Brownies. (Some folks love the brownies more than the whales!)

We are a certified Responsible Whale Watching partner with the World Cetacean Alliance located in Dana Point, CA, the Dolphin and Whale Capital of the World®, and the first Whale Heritage Site in the Americas.

My daughter and I had a tremendous experience with Stacey and Captain Neal. We originally scheduled the zodiak but due to an electronic issue, ended up on the Monatae for a virtually private cruise. The team was communicative and informative about both the animals and California waters. After encountering a large pod of feeding dolphins, they were alerted to 2-3 Fin Whales that were in the area. We were able to spend some quality time with the whales and on the return to dock, some sea lions. We highly recommend this tour.

I really appreciated how the crew so diligently stayed in contact with other boats, not just ones from the Captain Dave fleet, to do their best to ensure that customers would see as many animals as possible. It says a lot for their dedication to ensuring that customers had the best experience possible. Captain Chuck, along with Hannah (soon to be captain!) were beyond pleasant - they did all they could to make sure that everyone was informed, had great sightlines, and had equal opportunities for photo ops, etc. You could tell they both truly enjoyed what they were doing, and that they were truly happy when we came upon several pods of dolphins - we saw quite a show, and both myself and my family could not have been happier with the experience. From the call several day prior to make sure we knew everything about how to dress, where to park, and when to arrive, to the actual check in process, everyone we met was beyond pleasant and professional. Make sure not to miss the delicious brownies at the end!

This was definitely an exciting ride and experience we would repeat! Both Captain Marie and Janelle did a great job making our high-speed zodiac trip one to remember. I've never seen so many dolphins at one time. Everywhere we looked we saw them, and because we were so close to the water, it felt like we could "reach out and touch." Our photos were great!
