Overview

A fast and fun wildlife adventure awaits your family aboard our zodiac-style vessels (rigid inflatable boats). This cruise of up to 20 passengers gives you a thrilling 2-hour look at Southern California’s year-round whales and dolphins. With speeds of 30 knots or more, you’ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! Your zodiac adventure will have you incredibly close to the ocean’s surface and within arm’s reach of wildlife. At the conclusion of your cruise, you'll receive one of Mrs. Capt. Dave's famously delicious Triple Fudge Brownies. (Some folks love the brownies more than the whales!)

We are a certified Responsible Whale Watching partner with the World Cetacean Alliance located in Dana Point, CA, the Dolphin and Whale Capital of the World®, and the first Whale Heritage Site in the Americas.

Our captain was a bit rude, she was lecturing everyone the whole journey, did not like it because it was so long for my kid, who is 3 years old, I believe this is not a child friendly tour, it was super cold, and all of the time they weren’t helping us, or facilitating our experience. They were uncomfortable to have children on board, the only moment my son was super happy cause he saw some dolphins and jumped, they started yelling at us. We hardly saw whales, on the pictures you confused the whales with the waves. I think this is for kids who are 10 or older, they should not allow to have younger ones on board, since they are rude with kids and parents. Honestly I did this for them, was freezing, didn’t have a good time, next time I would visit an aquarium instead. I DONT understand how this is a top 10 attraction in California

I was unable to find your name on any of our trip manifests, and we do not allow 3-year old children on our Zodiac Safaris. It’s always a joy going on a trip with Capt. Dave’s! Went out Nov 26 with Chuck & Hannah. We saw two Fin whales! Thank you Chuck & Hannah for a great trip!

The BEST trip, EVER! I have been on many trips with Capt. Dave's, but yesterday was the best I have had, in California. We went out on the Zodiac, and were able to spend over an hour enjoying a humpback feeding on multiple Bait Balls of fish, with over 8,000 dolphins enjoying the same food.
