Overview

A fast and fun wildlife adventure awaits your family aboard our zodiac-style vessels (rigid inflatable boats). This cruise of up to 20 passengers gives you a thrilling 2-hour look at Southern California’s year-round whales and dolphins. With speeds of 30 knots or more, you’ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! Your zodiac adventure will have you incredibly close to the ocean’s surface and within arm’s reach of wildlife. At the conclusion of your cruise, you'll receive one of Mrs. Capt. Dave's famously delicious Triple Fudge Brownies. (Some folks love the brownies more than the whales!)

Even though we did not see a whale on our trip, we still had a blast. There were plenty of dolphin and sea lion sightings to keep us entertained. We even saw a "shark" (Really a sunfish). My boys loved the speed of the zodiac and being so close to the water. Another plus about the zodiac - when the crew was informed of dolphins in the area, we were the fastest boat there. Booking and check-in was simple. The crew was funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. It was amazing to step up on the front of the boat and look over the railing as the dolphins were jumping out of the water. If you want to add a little more thrill to your whale watching adventure, I highly recommend the zodiac.

Captain Neal and First Mate, Matt, made the entire experience fun and enjoyable! We unfortunately did not see a whale (not the season) but we saw pods of bottlenose dolphins and it was AMAZING! My family and I had a great time! We stayed with one pod for about 3 miles and we got some wonderful photos! Captain and first mate were informative and funny. We also saw Dana Point's white squirrels along the rocks, sea lions, and brown pelicans. We had a great experience! And we enjoyed Captain Dave's wife's triple chocolate fudge brownies!

Booking a expedition was easy and many time slots available. Captain Gary and Jessie were great giving a lot of information when we spotted a pod of Risso’s dolphins including the rare sighting of a baby dolphin. Captain Gary made a great effort to locate additional animals but unfortunately we did not see any others. And of course the brownie at the end of the ride was delicious!
