Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

My husband and I were totally blown away by Bill's tour. As New Yorkers, we appreciate a straight shooter, and there's no better way to describe him. He's smart, charismatic, and incredibly well-researched. He also happens to have quite a few academic degrees under his belt which provides for additional credibility as he's narrating you through the colorful and expansive history of Charleston. As we watched other tour groups pass us by, we felt really grateful we weren't on them and that we'd been fortunate enough to pick Bill's tour. He's super relatable, easy to follow, doesn't make you feel stupid for stupid questions, infuses humor and just all the things you'd want from what can be very emotion subject matter (if you know anything at all about Charleston's history - and if you don't, that's okay, you will!). Don't think twice, just book with Bill.

Bill is a fabulous and brilliant tour guide! From start to finish, our group was entertained with facts about Charlestonā€™s incredible history. We strolled at a leisurely pace past churches, historic houses and points of interest all the while hearing fun facts and learning the true stories behind Charlestonā€™s past. Billā€™s knowledge is extensive and you can tell that he cares very deeply about Charleston. Iā€™m so happy we had this experience today!

Saw many great reviews of this company and Bill, and were very fortunate to have him as our guide. Since it was a smaller group, had plenty of opportunities to ask questions, and take time at each stop to reflect on the complex narratives. Even usually blasƩ teenagers walked away from the tour discussing the relevant history that augmented their school knowledge. In a time of national upheaval and difficult conversations, it was truly worthwhile taking the time to understand the very painful truths of our history. Thank you, Bill! Wish you and your company the best. Keep up the good work.
