Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

This should be renamed the unfiltered Charleston tour that dives into the true history of Charleston, including the non-uplifting history to the fun history of Charleston. Our tour guide was so knowledgable and clearly knows the history of the city, industry, wars, etc. Highly recommend to anyone as this was the highlight of our trip and truly memorable experience.

Bill gave the most amazing tour of Charleston to our group. He is a historian with an encyclopedic knowledge of the local area and of civil war history in particular. Just as importantly, he is engaging and is a wordsmith! He is able to present history in an entertaining manner. What I really liked about the tour is that you donā€™t just learn a bunch of facts, but also how one event leads to another and how those events are displayed in the buildings and architecture of modern day Charleston. Iā€™ve take tours all over the world- London, Barcelona, Edinburgh, and many cities in the US. This is by far the best! I highly recommend. In fact we booked a private tour focusing on civil war history later for our group as he is so good! By the way, we are not complete history nerds but just inquisitive people interested in local flavor.
