Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Palmer Stowe took us on an amazing tour of historic Charleston. We took a leisurely walk to some beautiful churches, several amazing homes, and even a theater! Palmer was able to focus in on my interest in architecture and construction and the unique features of homes in Charleston throughout its history. What a great way to see Charleston and we got some great restaurant tips too!

My husband and I did a tour with Bill/William and were thrilled to be provided such enthusiastic, engaging and well organized historical material to set the stage for exploring this beautiful city. Highlighting the importance slavery played in our countryā€™s history, and how it impacted Charleston as it developed and still now, was both fascinating and something we appreciated from our very well informed tour guide!

We booked this tour knowing we wanted to get historical knowledge of Charleston and boy did our guide Palmer know her history. She is a very gregarious and engaging tour host. I would very highly recommend this tour but if you want to saunter along youā€™ll be hard pressed to stay close to her! She keeps a fast walking pace going in between stops so that when at the stops she has more time to teach and engage with those on the tour. My kind of guide!
