Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Very nice tour with great level of detail and insights on Charleston historic downtown roots. Very recommended if you only got a couple hours to walk around the most relevant with a very knowledgeable, articulate, and fun guide.

My first trip to Charleston and needed to learn about this gorgeous city. With so many tour choices, I decided on this tour as the reviews were so good. And they were correct. Palmer was so knowledgable on so many areas and showed me some hidden gems and information. She was flexible and went above and beyond recommending restaurants and activities I could do around Charleston. additionally she was a fully certified guide which gave me confidence on what I was learning about. It was a wonderful informative introduction to Charleston which encouraged me to really learn about this special place. Highly recommend this tour and Palmer.

Bill was my guide on a quiet Monday. It was basically my only full day in town, so I wanted to get a snapshot before exploring on my own. I was simply in awe with the breadth of his knowledge and more importantly his passion for the history and culture of the beautiful city of Charleston. He was a true storyteller, and didn’t shy away from the hard facts. He understands that there are numerous shades of gray beneath every sugar coated story in history. He presents the historical figures involved as human rather than myth. There was no question that he shied away from, nor that he couldn’t answer. This, folks, is a definitive tour at a great value. I highly recommend, and will likely return soon to book again.
