Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Bill is an outstanding guide! This is not due to his historical knowledge (he has) and the pace which he conducts his tour (just right) or the path he takes (unique) but dues to the fact that he puts it ALL out there. Bill acknowledges that Charleston is a beautiful and historically significant city and speaks about the great things. But he also speaks about the tragedies of what Charleston meant for those who arrived against their will. With our group he asked how in depth we wanted to go into that subject and we all agreed the that more information and less sugar-coating the better. Bill is the kind of guy who I want to get a drink with after the tour and pick his brain about everything Charleston. If you are considering any other tours, don't, just book this one!

Palmer exceeded our expectations. We had never been to Charleston before but she provided a wealth of knowledge about the history of Charleston. Our tour was on a VERY hot day and Palmer was very aware of this fact. She made sure we were all okay and just kept on moving. Our only hope is that the tour would have been a little bit shorter.

I chose this particular tour because it was the earliest walking tour on a Sunday. It was a wonderful tour! I was fortunate enough to be the only attendee that day, with Palmer as the guide. Palmer came across as a true professional with a deep affection and knowledge of the city. From city history to architecture to just talking about real estate prices, Palmer was engaging and made the tour fly by. I would highly recommend this tour. It was never boring and captured the history and ambiance of this wonderful city.
