Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

A must do again, only because there's just too much information. William was superb; he was a not only a fantastic historian - knowing anything and everything about Charleston, but a passionate and amusing tour guide. Highly recommend William. You will not be disappointed.

My dad and I came to Charleston to go kitesurfing and decided to take a walking tour on our extra day. We both agreed that this tour was the highlight of our trip, above the kitesurfing. Bill knows to to keep history interesting and can hold your attention across the entire tour. Heā€™s incredibly knowledgeable and explained the ā€œwhyā€ā€™s rather than just give facts. You need to take the tour, take the damn tour.

Palmer was an EXCELLENT tour guide for us today. She was very knowledgeable about the city, able to answer every question we had for her. She provided an energetic and interesting tour, tailored to our interests. She takes care to put us in the shade and gave us a few AC and bathroom breaks. She also provided great recommendations on restaurants, area attractions, etc. Iā€™d highly recommend Palmerā€™s tourā€”it was excellent!
