Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

I was recommended this walking tour company by a friend, and it was wonderful! It was the perfect amount of history, architecture, random facts, and walking. Our guide, Palmer, went above and beyond to answer all of our questions.

I can highly recommend this tour. Our guide was excellent. I was impressed with how many people knew her, i.e. Merchants, home owners, other guides, etc. Everyone had a good word to say to her and she to them. It was like everyone knew her. I was impressed with the depth of her knowledge of not only dates and historical facts but also archeological and anthropological information. Very detailed and interesting. At one point in the tour a home owner of a beautiful home stopped to talk with her and us and he invited us to tour his gardens, which were behind locked doors. I've been on a lot of tours and this was one of the best.

My close friends were visiting from out of town and since I had just moved to Charleston I thought a tour would be a good way to learn some local history. Palmer and Oyster Point came highly recommended from a local friend, so we booked one. From the outset, she was super accommodating. The tour was really detailed and accurate, and Palmer was very patient with our questions and in dealing with my 5yo son. Would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a personal, accurate, and in-depth tour of downtown Charleston.
