Our walking tour of Charleston was truly amazing! Our guide, Palmer, was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining. We not only received a great dose of Charleston history, but the context of the larger history and culture that led to some of the decisions and architecture. She was very passionate about her city and made our first experience of Charleston memorable and sealed a desire to return. The walking tour, in my opinion, was the best way to see the sites rather then a carriage ride, because you can walk inside places and "touch" it. Oyster Point comes highly recommended by us!

William Harris gives an excellent guided walking tour of Charleston. He is well-educated in both history and religion, and takes a scholarly approach to the historical influences which have shaped Charleston. He is also personable and funny, and will hold your attention throughout the walk. He even looks the part! A do-not-miss experience.

My wife and I have taken dozens of walking tours in various locations around the world over the years. But our journey through Charleston's history today with Palmer was truly one of the best tours we've ever experienced. Over the course of two hours, Palmer brought Charleston's history, architecture and culture to life for us as we explored downtown. She is passionate, animated, enthusiastic and energetic...you can't help but be captivated by what she's saying. And her knowledge of the city, even down to some relatively minute trivia, was seemingly boundless. We actually loved the fast pace of her delivery, because it allowed us to learn so much more in a short period of time. This tour was recommended to us by a friend who took the same tour a couple of weeks ago with Bill, Palmer's business partner, and she was equally enthusiastic about it. One of the things that probably makes a huge difference is that Bill and Palmer are not just hired guides--they are the business owners. They are passionate about what they do, and it shows. Seriously, if this is your first time in Charleston, do not miss this tour!
