Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

This was one of the highlights of our stay in Charleston. Our tour guide Bill was a true Charleston historian. He was filled with the historical facts that focused on the true history of the town. He took the time to go into the rich history of the city and spent all the time necessary to answer everyone questions. He was well educated and full of character. Thanks for an awesome experience Bill!

Bill Harris is an amazing source of history who have a very engaging walking tour of the beautiful city of Charleston. He is able to distill his immense knowledge of history into present day relevance. Very highly recommended. šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘Just donā€™t ask him about Savannah. šŸ˜

Palmer Stowe led our walking tour, and she did a great job. Oyster Point tours are informative and carefully researched and presented, avoiding hyperbole to excite the audience. In fact, the history and architecture presented in this tour were fascinating without embellishment. Palmer's extensive knowledge and energetic presentation style were engaging, and she was very good about soliciting questions and pausing her own discussion for questions from the group. She did a good job of helping us imagine ourselves living in the antebellum times about which she spoke. She also made excellent eye contact with all of us in the group throughout the walk, and she had interesting things for all in attendance, ranging from a teenager through a couple in their 50s. As we concluded, I found myself sorry that our tour had to come to an end.
