Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Oyster Point owner Bill hosted our tour (he said he's done nearly 7000 tours over 7+ years). The walk is not strenuous (other than the very uneven streets) and the two hours passed quickly. Bill does an excellent job explaining the WHY behind 300+ years of historic Charleston. He uses big words and has many opinions (typically well supported by his extensive research), but he welcomes discussion and is respectful of differing views and sensitive topics. If you want a casual tour so you can take selfies in front of the many sights of Charleston, this may not be your cup of tea. But if you want the tour to exercise your mind as well as your body, give Bill a call.

My wife and I have traveled the world taking walking tours every where we go. Billā€™s engagement with the tour group and obvious passion for Charleston and history made this easily the best walking tour we have ever gone on. Highly recommend. Just be prepared to be entertained while learning a lot!

Bill is an amazing individual with exceptional knowledge of the Charleston history. He gets the group engaged when giving a terrific walking tour of the city. Don't miss the opportunity to take a tour with Bill, you won't regret it.
