Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

This was truly the highlight of our trip to Charleston. Our guide (Bill) was extraordinary. His knowledge of the local history, the major part that slavery had in the overall development of the area, and his grasp of the local folklore was outstanding. Perhaps the highlight of our time with Bill was the way he weaved his linguistic skills to paint such a colorful picture of the art, history, and background of the city. This should be # 1 on your list of things to do in Charleston.

If you are considering a tour of Charleston this should be at the top of you list. Palmer (our guide) clearly wanted us to love the city ā€” ugly scars and remarkable beautyā€” as much as she does. Knowledgeable about a very wide range of Charleston topics with a focus on history and architecture. Not to be missed

What an amazing way to kick off our brief stay in Charleston! Palmer's 2-hour tour hit all the important spots and was informative, interesting and thorough. It was a great overview that was a perfect into into Charleston, and a great way to segue into exploring on our own. Well-paced and interesting enough that it kept out attention for the full 2 hours. This is the tour to take!
