Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Bill describes the economy that created Charleston and how that wealth drove the development and expansion of the city. He is a lively economic historian with quick wit and humor. You can tell he loves this job, turning the walk into a roving classroom discussion. Way beyond simple facts & anecdotes, now I know why Charleston is a unique city. HIGHLY recommended, I won't forget his tour.

Our guide, Bill, did a terrific job of sharing his knowledge and love of this beautiful city. Great couple hours of easy walking and seeing historical sites. Highly recommend!

We had a great time with Bill on our tour. It was just me and my husband on the tour which ended up to be great. Bill gave us an interesting perspective on the history of Charleston - the good, the bad and the ugly. I loved how engaging Bill was and that he gave us an extremely honest perspective of the history of Charleston. He asked good questions to keep us engaged as he went through the history. There is so much to see in Charleston - this was our first tour so we effectively knew nothing. Bill had some great recommendations of other tours to take and places to eat that were off the beaten path. Overall, the 1.5 hours with Bill flew by. We could have have continued on another 2 hours with him if we had the chance. Heā€™s a great speaker (he speaks fast, which I love) and obviously knows his history of the area extremely well.
