Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

We had a wonderful tour with Palmer! It ended up being basically a private tour on a random Thursday morning. She was so knowledgeable and friendly, we had a great morning. Highly recommend.

Our tour was fantastic with Bill. The content focuses on the economic powerhouse that built Chalreston and how it became the most important town in the south at its time. He uses this backdrop to tour the buildings and locations of the old city. It does much more then the what am I looking at tours, its also the why and how was it important. Much of it has to do with slavery and the slave trade so if you are uncomfortable hearing that discussed in the open this is probably not for you. Bill is also shall I say a little opinionated which to our group was fine and entertaining as well. We live here and the tour was a great learning experience in a short period of time. If you just want to be told what you are looking at and who lived where again this might not be for you, but to better really understand the history it was first rate. Just don't ask him about Savannah....
