Highlights of Charleston Guided Walking Tour

Overview
Our two hour Highlights of Charleston walking tour guides guests through the historic French Quarter and South of Broad neighborhoods of downtown Charleston. Along the way, your guide will describe the long history, unique culture, architecture, and geography of Charleston and the greater lowcountry area, painting a detailed picture of how Charleston's tumultuous past formed the city now beloved by travelers the world over. You'll view some of the city's oldest houses of worship, burial sites, theaters, the forts of Charleston harbor, and the antebellum mansions that look out across the waters of the Cooper and Ashley rivers, among many other historic and picturesque sites. Our guides also offer their expert advice on other activities, restaurants, and bars for guests to explore once they've finished their tour.

Wow! Two hours of intelligent, articulate and erudite commentary about the early years of Charleston, based on a theme of economic growth. Our guide William, who owns Oyster Point Tours, was unshakably knowledgeable about the buildings, the history and the culture of the city. But beware; he has strong opinions about the past and is unafraid to share them - if you want a bland fact-based commentary he is not for you. None of our questions (and challenges) were left without a competent and relevant response. In summary, a really stimulating introduction to a beautiful city.

Hands down, best walking tour we've ever been on, and we've been on a lot. We're somewhat of walking tour junkies. Bill made us laugh, he made us think, he fired us up. We were talking about it, and his on point social justice opinions, for days afterward. I want him to come give me a tour of my own city.

We had the pleasure of participating in a 2 hour private walking tour with Bill as our guide. Although it rained for most of the walk, Bill provided us with great insight into pre and post civil war Charleston. He answered all of our newby questions regarding old and new Charleston and the four of us left the tour with a much greater understanding of the areaā€™s history. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
